Golden Gate Transit fares
Golden Gate Transit fares are determined by the number of zones traveled. Golden Gate Transit offers one way fares, discount ticket books and discounted TransLink fares. Golden Gate Transit does not offer unlimited use passes.

Zone 1: San Francisco
Zone 2: Sausalito, Marin City, Mill Valley, Tiburon
Zone 3: Corte Madera, Larkspur, Kentfield, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Terra Linda, San Rafael, Lucas Valley, Marinwood
Zone 4: Ignacio, Hamilton, Novato, San Marin
Zone 5: Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park
Zone 6: Santa Rosa
One way cash fares
When boarding the bus, tell your final destination to the driver and put the total fare into the farebox. If you need to transfer as a part of your trip, a paper transfer will be given for your connection.

To transfer to Golden Gate Ferry, pay the ferry fare on the first bus. A transfer will be issued valid on the ferry.

Discount ticket book
Discount ticket books are no longer sold.
Ride value ticket book provides 20 discounted rides on Golden Gate Transit buses for 6 months. Ticket books are sold according to the one way cash fare of the trip. ($3.75 value = $60)
Value card and TransLink
Value card
Value cards have replaced ticket books. Value cards come in different denominations: $18, $25, $36, $50 and $75 ($18 and $36 cards are for Marin County travel only). Each card is good for 6 months.
Card must be inserted into the farebox reader when boarding. Discounts are automatically given.
TransLink
Riders paying with TransLink cards are provided with the same discount available to Value card riders. To pay with a TransLink card, tag the card once at the reader upon boarding, and tag again when exiting. Transfers are automatically tracked.
Value card/TransLink fares
For adults traveling between selected zones only. Regular adult cash fares apply if traveling on other zones. Regular seniors, youth, and disabled cash fares apply to qualified riders using Value card and TransLink.
