The Lake Tahoe region is a major tourist attraction in the United States. The region spreads across two states and multiple counties on both states. Two transit agencies provide local transit service along the shores of Lake Tahoe (BlueGO, TART). A number of public and private providers offer connections to Amtrak and airports outside the region.
