Sonoma County Transit has a zone fare system. The entire bus network has 14 fare zones. The longest bus line (60) travels across five fare zones.

On most routes, cash fares on the bus vary according to the number of zones traveled.

Some routes are considered "local" service and has a flat fare. Route 38 has its own fares to and from San Rafael.
