About:Big Blue Bus/service change/8-15-2021
Big Blue Bus 8-15-2021
Beginning Sunday, August 15, 2021, we're introducing a new Express 7, restoring service on three (3) routes, and making route and/or schedule changes on sixteen (16) routes.
Further, Big Blue Bus no longer accepts cash and tokens on board. Instead, customers must make contactless fare payments with TAP or a mobile ticket. For more details, visit: bigbluebus.com/contactless.
Important: Printed bus schedules remain unavailable. Please view scheduled bus arrival times online, or get real-time arrival information using digital signs at select bus stops, or download the Transit app. For more ways to real-time arrival times using a 4-digit stop ID, visit: bigluebus.com/realtime.
Below are the changes that take effect on August 15, 2021.
ROUTE 1 Main St & Santa Monica Blvd Minor Schedule Changes:

Buses now use bus only lanes on 98th St. for faster, more reliable service near LAX. New Stops!

RAPID 3 Lincoln Blvd Rapid Service Restored:
Rapid 3 weekday service has been restored; buses run every 15 minutes all day. For bus arrival times, please refer to our online schedule. Buses now use bus only lanes on 98th St. for faster, more reliable service near LAX. Trips now serve Manchester Ave. and Sepulveda Blvd. in both directions, on all days.

ROUTE 7 Pico Blvd Minor Schedule Changes:
Westbound weekday morning service adjusted to every 10 minutes.
EXPRESS 7 Pico Blvd Express New Route:
New limited stop service from Downtown Santa Monica to Wilshire/Western Station D Line via Pico Blvd. Buses run every 20 minutes all day on weekdays. For bus arrival times, please refer to our online schedule.
RAPID 7 Pico Blvd Rapid Schedule Changes:
Weekday service adjusted to every 20 minutes all day.
ROUTE 8 Ocean Park Blvd Minor Schedule Changes:
Weekday Eastbound morning service improved to every 20 minutes during peak hours. Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
ROUTE 9 Pacific Palisades Minor Schedule Changes:
Weekday Northbound express trips to Palisades Charter High School extended to Sunset Blvd. and Marquez Pl.; buses will serve all Route 9 stops on Sunset Blvd., north of Temescal Canyon Rd. Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time. New Stop!
SB Temescal Canyon Rd. at Bowdoin St.
RAPID 12 UCLA/Westwood to Expo Rapid Minor Schedule Changes:
Weekday Northbound morning service improved to every 10 minutes during peak hours. Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
ROUTE 14 Bundy Dr & Centinela Ave Schedule Changes:
Schedule improvements on all days, for more frequent and reliable service.
ROUTE 16 Wilshire Blvd/Bundy Dr - Marina del Rey Service Restored:
Route 16 weekday service has been restored; buses run every 25 minutes most the day. For bus arrival times, please refer to our online schedule.
ROUTE 17 UCLA - VA Medical Center - Palms Minor Schedule Changes:
Minor schedule adjustments on weekdays to help keep buses on time.
