Tamien Station
City: San Jose
Tamien is a convenient park and ride station near downtown San Jose and a transfer point between Caltrain and the VTA Light Rail systems. The station is named after a local Native American tribe (Tamien) that once settled in the area.
VTA Light Rail platforms are located in the median of CA-87. The Caltrain platforms are located east of the freeway. A pedestrian walkway (by CA-87 on ramp at Lelong St) connects Light Rail and Caltrain.

Caltrain
This station is served by Caltrain local/limited stop and Baby Bullet trains on weekdays only.
Caltrain ticket machines and Clipper card readers are located in the concourse below the Caltrain platform. All riders must have a valid ticket or tagged Clipper Card before boarding Caltrain and train crews may inspect for fares onboard. Riders using Clipper should "tag off" after exiting the train.
Trains may depart on any track, verify with conductor for departure time and destination.
On weekends and holidays, there's no train service at this station. Take a shuttle from the east side of this station to San Jose Diridon Station. A valid Caltrain ticket is required for the shuttle bus.

VTA Light Rail
VTA ticket machines and Clipper card readers are located by the bottom of escalators and stairs leading to the light rail platform. Purchase ticket or tag card before boarding.
Riders transferring from Caltrain using Clipper should "tag off" at a reader in the Caltrain area before tagging on at the light rail platform entrance.

Parking
Free parking is available at the station on lots located on both sides of the freeway. Parking on the the east side of the freeway (closer to Caltrain) can be accessed from Lick Ave. Parking on the west side (closer to light rail) can be accessed from Lelong St.
Spots designated for free long term parking (7 days maximum) are available on the west side of the station near Alma St.
Bicycle
Bike racks and electronic BikeLink lockers are available at this station. Regular lockers are also available through Caltrain at 650-508-6350.
